Featured in Hawaii Parent Magazine
Kawaiahaʻo Church School was featured in the Fall edition of Hawaii Parent Magazine in an article entitled “Benefits of Learning Languages at a Young Age”. In addition to having a dual language program, Kawaiahaʻo Church School has integrated the Hawaiian language and culture into its curriculum.
The article explained that children develop 85% of their core brain structure by the time they are five years old. There are many benefits of exposing a child to additional languages at an early age. In addition to cognitive benefits and a correlation to higher academic achievement, it creates a deeper understanding for humanity and culture.
