Huakaʻi

We had a wonderful Huakaʻi in East Honolulu!  We started the morning with a beach clean up led by Mālama Honua, and we talked about leaving places more beautiful than how we find it.  Then, the keiki got to meet Ocean Safety’s Rescue 2 Team – and learned more about what they do and how they help people at our beaches.  After that, we had the unique opportunity to visit the Paiko Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary and DLNR brought us some naupaka plants that our keiki got to put in the ground!  And lastly, the keiki got to cool off in the water and eat lunch!  We are so grateful to everyone who made this field trip possible, especially our community helpers-  Mālama Honua, Ocean Safety, and the DLNR!  It was a memorable, beautiful day!
