Kawaiahaʻo Church School Earns Accreditation

The Kawaiahaʻo Church School ‘ohana held a celebration lunch on Friday, March 3, 2017 in appreciation of all those who contributed to a successful accreditation.

Honolulu, HI- Kawaiahaʻo Church School (KCS) received the gold-star of accreditation, as it was granted Seven-Year Accreditation Status by the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS), and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The school, located in the heart of downtown Honolulu, serves children from 2 years old through grade 5, providing a Christian, Montessori, Native Hawaiian culture-based curriculum.

In order to receive accreditation status by WASC, the school needs to complete a comprehensive review and demonstrate its ongoing commitment to education excellence. The school was evaluated in 16 areas through school visits, in-depth reports, and by conducting interviews with the Board of Trustees, the Kawaiahaʻo Church and School leadership team, faculty, and parents. The accreditation standards included evaluation of the school’s educational program, student learning experience, finances, safety, advancement, and facilities.
